MEET OUR TEAM
ABIGAIL E. PEOPLES - Founding Attorney and Owner
Abigail E. Peoples started the firm in 2009 right out of law school. Born and raised in Greensboro, she enjoys working with residents of the Triad area and beyond. She graduated from Western Guilford High School, and went on to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill—Go Tarheels! Abigail also earned a Masters in Counseling at Regent University in Virginia prior to attending law school at the College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law in Williamsburg, Virginia. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as her dog Tucker (the firm’s "Supervising Pawalegal"), and loves reading, hiking, quilting and watching movies.
Abigail brings to her practice compassion and integrity that are often hard to find in the legal world. She also has an exceptional academic record and career background that reflect her hard work and success. Abigail’s practice focuses on estate planning, estate administration, guardianships and elder law. She will be happy to discuss other topics with you to determine if she can assist you with your particular situation or to guide you to someone who can. She looks forward to talking with you about your legal needs.
KASSANDRA COLLINS - Senior Paralegal
Kassandra Collins joined our firm in 2022 with a degree in Paralegal Studies and has since earned her North Carolina Paralegal Certification, a significant achievement. She plays a crucial role on our Estate Administration team, guiding clients through the emotional and often overwhelming process of losing a loved one with care and understanding. Kassandra’s dedication to ensuring that each client feels supported during these challenging times is one of the many ways she adds great value to the firm.
A native of North Carolina, Kassandra enjoys warm sunny days, getting lost in a good book, and spending time with close friends. She shares her home with her beloved Maine Coon, American Bobtail, and Calico cats, embracing the comfort of home and the relationships that matter most.
ERICA RAGAN - Paralegal
Erica Ragan initially joined the firm as our receptionist in September of 2023, and was quickly promoted to Paralegal. Erica assists with our estate planning, guardianship and Medicaid matters. She is originally from Florida but moved to North Carolina to earn her master’s degree in history from UNC-Greensboro. She is passionate about Elder Law and enjoys learning more about all of our practice areas. Erica has proven herself an invaluable member of the team and is eager to help our clients and our firm in any way she can.
When she is not working, Erica enjoys knitting, baking, trying to keep her garden alive, and spending time with her black cat, Jet.
STEPHANIE HAIGLER - Receptionist
Stephanie is our wonderful receptionist and her voice is likely to be the first one you hear when you call. She has worked as a paralegal for over 25 years in the law firm world, and previously worked for the county for 6 years. We are excited for her to bring her experience to our firm! Stephanie and her husband, Carl, enjoy camping, cooking, attending the wonderful events at Tanger Center, and playing board games with friends.
SHARON MOON - Firm Administrator
Sharon Moon joined our team in 2024 and plays an integral part in the day-to-day operations of the firm. With her enthusiasm and initiative, she’s equipped to handle a variety of firm and client needs, including facility management, client billing, and project coordination. Her commitment to providing excellent service assists the firm in achieving company goals and building customer satisfaction.
Sharon obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Adelphi University in Garden City, Long Island, and began her career as an Assistant Office Manager for a financial company. She has built her knowledge of business and personnel management over the past 20 years and believes learning is a continuous process, always evolving to meet the needs of business and personal life.
During her free time, Sharon unleashes her creative side and enjoys diy projects that bring organization and eye appealing results. She also enjoys going on adventures with her two children and puppy, trail hikes and seeing all there is to see in this beautiful state of North Carolina.
MARY MILES - Legal Assistant
Mary joined our firm this fall, 2024, as a part time legal assistant. Her prior employment background was health care, so going into legal work has been quite the leap! Mary is currently a full-time student pursuing her degree in paralegal technology at GTCC and set to graduate in May 2025. From there she plans to attain Paralegal Certification and possibly pursue a master’s degree. As a former military kid, she likes to say she's from all over but she has lived here in Greensboro for the past seven years with her husband, two dogs, and three kitties. We are glad to have her on the team!
THE OFFICIAL SUPERVISING "PAWALEGAL"
TUCKER PEOPLES
Tucker is a mini Sheepadoodle (his mom is an Old English Sheepdog and his dad is a Miniature Poodle) and weighs about 25 pounds, but when he’s really fluffy it looks like a lot more. He is 4 years old and has been coming to work at the firm since he was 10 weeks old. He loves people and especially loves his mom, Abigail. He takes his job as supervising Pawalegal seriously and spends his time around the office sleeping, greeting clients and enjoying all the attention he gets from anyone who walks in the door.
THE OFFICIAL FIRM MASCOT AND GREETER, RETIRED
JAKE PEOPLES
Jake was a beagle, Brittany-spaniel mix who was rescued by Abigail in 2002, when he was around 2. He was a loyal companion to her for almost 13 years, and the firm's first official mascot and "pawalegal." He crossed the rainbow bridge in June 2018 and we miss him terribly!
